Wings

In 2010, when WarBirds was looking to streamline its organizational process, it turned to the Wings system.

Wings are subgroups within the guild that organize themselves around games and player groups. think of a wing like a single family operating as one part of an extended family.

What is the purpose of Wings?

The purpose of wings is simple, to alleviate stress on officers, and streamline the organization of the guild as a whole.

This is accomplished by the autonomy granted to wings. Each wing has complete control over its game and the strategy it uses to approach that game.

A wing is required to participate in WarBirds guild affairs, they are subject to the WarBirds Codex, and wings must follow guild directives.

Wings also serve a secondary function in WarBirds, As WarBirds maintains a main game that the majority of the guild is playing, we use wings as a way of grouping individual squads on our main game. We find that this results in superior teamwork in pvp, and gvg content.

Who are the leaders of a wing?

Inside of each wing we use a set command structure internally, however due to the nature of video games, a wing may refer to different officers by different names, commonly the name of the officer position inside of the game, however for WarBirds guild purposes we refer to the following command structure in wings:

Wing Commander
Responsible for the following:
- Leadership and management of the wing and its officers.
- Management of wing resources and finances supplied by the guild or acquired by the wing.
- Participation in guild activities, competitions, and overall management of the guild.

- Any duties not explicitly assigned to another officer within a wing.

Wing Executive Officer

Responsible for the following:
- Leadership and management of the wing and its officers.

- Enforcement of WarBirds guild policies and rules, including the WarBirds Codex.

- Management of wing resources and finances supplied by the guild or acquired by the wing.

- participation in guild activities, competitions, and overall management of the guild.

- Any duties not explicitly assigned to another officer within a wing.

Guild Liaison Officer

Responsible for the following:
- Attendance of WarBirds guild meetings.

- relaying of information and policies to the Liaison Officers Wing.

- Voicing concerns a wing may have with WarBirds guild policies.
- Voting on behalf of the wing in WarBirds guild meetings.

Guild Quartermaster

Responsible for the following:

- Attendance of WarBirds Quartermasters Corp. meetings.

- Management of wing resources from the guild or acquired by the wing.

- Reporting of wing needs and submitting wing requests to the guild.

- Management of wing voice communications and tools.

Wing General Officers
Responsible for the following:

- Any duties assigned by the Wing Commander, Executive Officer, Guild Liaison Officer, or Guild Quartermaster, as well as general leadership of the wing.
- Leading by example by exhibiting what it means to live and breath WarBirds.
